On August 8, a meeting between our society’s executive board and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport was held at the National Land Development Exhibition Hall.
Our society was attended by President Jin-cheol Park, Vice President Tae-yeon Kim, Vice President of Research 2 Young-gyu Joo, Director of General Affairs Jin-woo Moon, Director of Architectural Research Institute Hoon-hee Cho, Team Leader Jin-su Jeong, and Team Leader Du-sik Shin.
From the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Minister Park Sang-woo, Director of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Bureau Lee Sang-joo, Director of the Architectural Policy Division Lee Jin-cheol, and Secretary Cho Gwan-woo attended.
The two-hour symposium, which included a luncheon, shared the latest issues of the academic society and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport regarding current issues in the land, infrastructure and transport and construction sectors.
In particular, we had time to propose policies that can be promoted through cooperation in the construction field and exchange opinions. The details are summarized as follows.
▮Agreement 1. Attendance at the 20th Architecture Day Commemoration Ceremony
- Proposal for Minister's attendance for commemorative speech and award ceremony for meritorious persons (10/8, 14:XNUMX PM)
▮Agreement 2. Promotion of policy to improve the image of the construction industry
- Promoting image improvement events such as academic presentations
- Planning, discovery, execution, and cooperation of future-oriented representative R&D brands
- Training of professional manpower and creation of conditions, conducting research on advancement of the construction industry
- Proposal for reorganization of the legal system (establishment of the Construction Industry Promotion Act, Construction Technology Promotion Act, Construction Culture Promotion Act, and Architectural Engineer Act)
- Establishment of the Architectural Promotion Agency led by the academic society, laying the foundation for systematic promotion of the architectural field
▮Agreement 3. Participation in the daily lecturer talent donation for the Neulbom School architectural education program
- Proposal to participate as a daily lecturer for the architectural education program of Neulbom School, currently in pilot operation in the 24.2 semester (talent donation)
▮Agreement 4. Promotion of new R&D in the construction field
- Proposal and feasibility review of '2050 XNUMXD Complex City Construction Technology Development'
- Linked with government plans, drawing a picture of the future urban architectural space in advance and developing necessary technologies in advance
This meeting is also significant in that it opens a new chapter in the relationship between the two organizations as it is an opportunity for the executive board of our society and the minister of the relevant ministry to meet face-to-face.
Our society will continue to work tirelessly to advance architectural studies and industry in cooperation with all related organizations, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
