Mind Map Architects Office
👉Mind Map Architects Office is an architectural firm that started as a design studio in 2017 and has been operating to this day.
While we work across the broad field of architecture, our fundamental goal is to design meaningful spaces where people's movements and gaze linger. Our work spans a wide range of projects, from private projects like single-family homes and neighborhood living facilities to public projects implemented through open competitions.
👣 Does 'Mind Map Architects' have its own philosophy or values?
👉As the name "mind map" suggests, I believe it's crucial to draw a "mind map" when designing a building. When clients come to our architectural firm, they often have specific architectural aspirations beyond the physical requirements.
👉We value carefully drawing out and listening to this, aligning it with the architectural direction we desire. Ultimately, I believe the design process is about completing a mental map and moving forward.
👣 What are the strengths of 'Mind Map Architectural Firm'?
👉Since opening Mindmap Architects, I've primarily worked with private clients. Most of my work involves single-family homes, apartment complexes, and neighborhood living facilities, and I've also designed public buildings through design competitions. Single-family homes account for a significant portion of my personal work. Housing projects require twice as much effort and are inherently challenging compared to other projects. While I enjoy the work, I always approach it with caution and caution.
👣What is the most important factor you consider when hiring new employees?
👉As a coworker, I believe it's crucial to be able to listen to each other. Architecture involves working not only within an office but also with various external partners, requiring frequent listening and synthesis of diverse perspectives. Therefore, it's crucial to be able to effectively organize and communicate your own opinions, while also listening attentively to and coordinating with others.
👣What should I prepare to help me prepare for job hunting?
👉Architectural design isn't a simple task, so I believe it's crucial to understand society, cities, neighborhoods, and people. I believe it's helpful to gain experience in a variety of fields beyond architecture.
👉And because architectural design involves many long-term projects, maintaining mental and physical health is crucial to sustaining it. No matter how much you want to work, if you lack the stamina, you'll find yourself wanting to compromise without even realizing it. To avoid that, I recommend regular exercise and engaging in hobbies.
