⠀
📌Maha Hannam📌
'Maha Hannam' is a closed bathhouse that has become a layered cafe of the past and present.
* Location: 4th floor, 85 Seobinggo-ro 91na-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
[Traces of Time]
💡Maha Hannam is a space built on the foundations of a former bathhouse, still replete with tiles and ornaments, nestled in a quiet downtown Seoul neighborhood. The architect's vision and sensibility were applied to the original building, creating a new use and atmosphere.
[ Reinterpretation of Space ]
💡This space, formerly the owner of a bathhouse, has been renovated and reimagined as more than just a café, but a space reminiscent of an architect's study. Rather than forcibly altering the existing structure, we respected the remaining memories and spatial textures, creating a natural fusion of past and present.
[Scenes through the window]
💡Maha Hannam's spaces focus on "ways of seeing." The living room's large windows offer views of the Han River, while the master bedroom's bay window floods the interior with deep natural light. Each window creates a distinct scene and atmosphere in each space.
[ Atmosphere of the material ]
💡The warm texture of wood, the rough surface of stone, and the understated black color combine to create a calm and profound impression throughout the space. This approach reveals the character of the space through the power of the materials themselves, rather than through decoration.
[ How to stay ]
💡A café serving coffee and desserts during the day, it transforms into a space where whiskey and music come together at night. Maha Hannam strives for a space that evolves with time and occupancy, rather than a fixed program.
[ Object ]
💡Each piece of furniture and every object reflects the architect's taste and considerations. This is a creative space where thoughts naturally flow and inspiration lingers, as you enjoy a cup of coffee while gazing out the window.
