📌Ewha Womans University ECC📌
';Ewha Womans University ECC'; is an educational and cultural space located along a deeply pine valley.
* Location: 52 Ewha Yeodae-gil, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul
[Ihwa Valley]
💡A massive campus valley, 250 meters long and 25 meters wide, will be created across the existing athletic field. By clearing the ground space, the previously disconnected north-south axis of the campus will be visually and spatially connected.
[ Full-length windows & natural lighting ]
💡The two sides facing the valley are designed with full-glass curtain walls, allowing sunlight deep into the basement, all the way to the sixth floor. Long, stainless steel fins serve as sunshades, completing the rhythmic façade design.
[ Eco-friendly facilities ]
💡The building adopted a thermal labyrinth method, creating a massive concrete maze beneath the building to bring in outside air. This method utilizes geothermal heat to provide cool air in summer and warm air in winter, dramatically reducing heating and cooling energy consumption.
[ Landscape ]
💡Instead of being built above ground, the building is buried deep, and the entire upper roof is transformed into a green roof garden. Rather than being an artificial structure, it becomes part of the natural terrain, continuing the campus' ecological flow without disrupting it.
[ Cultural Complex ]
💡Educational facilities like classrooms and libraries, as well as various amenities like movie theaters, restaurants, and cafes, coexist organically. It functions like a small city within the university, where study, relaxation, and cultural experiences all come together.
