'Miji-ui' is a space of comfort and inspiration nestled at the foot of Mt. Goheon in Ulsan, embracing Golaan Pond, where a lounge, café, gallery, and art shop harmonize with nature to draw out inner sensibilities into private thoughts.

The name 'Miji' signifies what is not yet known and moments yet to occur. This building is designed as a small piece of nature where water, wood, and stone harmonize, as well as a space for contemplation where visitors can confront themselves.
[ Time that slowly seeps in ]
💡Penetrating the unknown provides an experience of ‘gazing’ at the landscape, rather than ‘staying within’ it. Walking slowly along the passageway leading from the entrance to the inside, visitors enter into the flow of time without being conscious of the boundaries between spaces.
[ Nature where the inside and outside become one ]
💡The most significant feature is the streamlined ‘forest path architecture’ that erases the boundary between the inside and the outside. The curved building flows along the terrain like the trace of walking through a forest path, and the three-tiered stainless steel eaves surrounding it connect the architecture and nature in a single line.
[ Art to be enjoyed, not stayed idly ]
💡 This place rejects art that remains merely an object of appreciation. The 38 works by 15 artists are not paintings, but are permeated throughout the space, including glass art lighting, tables and chairs, and stair railings. Visitors encounter these pieces by touching, sitting on, and using them with their hands, rather than with their eyes.
[ A space for people who accumulate time ]
People linger over a single stone in the garden or the sound of water instead of taking a photograph. The time accumulated in this way remains not as a fleeting experience, but as one that fills their senses and lives.
[ A Garden with Ten Stories ]
The ten gardens are not merely landscaping, but a complete story featuring works that reinterpret each moment of life. As visitors pass through these gardens in turn, they are reminded of the time they have lived or the time yet to come.
