"Ninety-Third, Containing Space": Park Bong-dam

';Park Bongdam'; is a complex cultural space of Gooksoondang, and a new cultural center that connects the past and present by reinterpreting the historical brewery market.
* Location: 452 Maesonggosaeok-ro, Bongdam-eup, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do
[ Existing and new, material contrast ]
💡Bak Bong-dam creates a spatial characteristic that connects the past and the present by creating a distinct material contrast between existing and new buildings.
The existing building on the left retains the characteristics of weathered concrete, and reinterprets the natural element of the park by adding rough wood grain using a saw cut technique.
The new building on the right has a facade made of galvanized steel sheeting, emphasizing modern aesthetic elements and creating a contrasting yet harmonious age with the existing buildings.
[ Courtyard in harmony with nature ]
💡The landscaped space is designed lower than the corridor to encourage natural drainage, and the irregular lines of the corridor are in harmony with the organic plants, following the natural flow.
These courtyards bring nature deep into the interior, creating a space where you can feel the changing seasons.
[Regenerated space]
💡This space goes beyond simply restoring the traces of the original building through regeneration, reinterpreting them to create new value. By enlarging the existing ceiling holes into patterns, elements of the past were reimagined with a modern sensibility, creating a poetic scene.
