📌Purposeless📌
';Mu-mok'; is a complex cultural space that was formerly an LPG storage facility and has now been reborn as a space that connects the front street and the back alley, embracing culture and leisure in everyday life.
* Location: 22 Nuha-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
[Exposed concrete, chipping method]
💡What is chipping?: A finishing technique that artificially digs up or breaks the concrete surface to reveal a rough texture.
💡To capture the memory of the past LPG storage facility, exposed concrete was used and the surface was chipped to reveal an irregular texture.
💡The result is a unique atmosphere where light and shadow intertwine, and the goal is to create an unfinished and raw feeling rather than a neatly finished building.
[ Purposeless ]
💡The underground passageway naturally leads to the alley on the other side. It's a space where you can enter without any purpose and wander like water flowing. In fact, after the building was completed, when a fire broke out at the nearby Chinese restaurant, Yeonghwaru, during interior renovations, the 119 rescue team was able to quickly extinguish the fire by parking their fire truck on the wide Pilun-daero and passing through this building.
[ Quiet space, soft sunlight ]
💡The quiet interior creates an atmosphere where time seems to pass slowly.
💡Natural light coming through the windows partially illuminates the space, and the quietly arranged exhibits encourage visitors to slowly encounter each piece.
💡Although the gallery is not very large, its coziness and tranquility allow you to experience art alone, with no outside noise or hustle and bustle.
[Seochon Inwanggyeong]
💡The view of Seochon from the rooftop and fourth-floor cafes is a breathtaking painting, a fusion of urban and natural beauty. The low-slung hanok roofs and narrow alleyways create a uniquely Seochon ambiance, with the majestic scenery of Inwangsan Mountain serving as a backdrop.
