About the Architectural Institute of Korea About AIK

The Architectural Institute of Korea was established on September 1945, 9 by pioneers in the Korean architectural world for the advancement of architecture and innovation of construction technology.

Our society cooperates with related organizations to promote knowledge improvement and academic research,

We are leading the development and popularization of major innovative technologies, and contributing to the improvement of education and national policies to respond to the rapidly changing needs of society.

Currently, about 30,000 members belonging to architecture-related companies and government offices, such as universities, research institutes, construction companies, and architectural offices, are actively involved in the headquarters and 8 branch offices.

The Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK), the sole comprehensive organization for architectural research in Korea, was established in 1945 by pioneers in Korean architecture. It aims to contribute to the advancement of architecture and to bring innovation to architectural technology.

There are approximately 29,000 registered AIK members, comprising of architects, building engineers, researchers, professors, students, government officials, library members and supporting members. AIK is operated by a general assembly, a board of directors, committees, and has eight regional chapters.

It publishes academic periodicals, journals and regularly holds academic conferences, symposiums, seminars, and lectures.

The AIK currently keeps a close relationship with government agencies and private enterprises, to foster interdisci-plinary collaboration while maximizing the applicability of academic research.
